© Valentina Marella / Luisa Carcavale

Far from Paola Manfrin’s visual interviews, I found this evening some visual sentimental dialogues. The final Holga style effect leaves me puzzled, but until I read from the project site, I liked the ritual that require the creation of Double Image / Double Experience di Luisa Carcavale.
To receive a film, not knowing the content, to load it in total darkness on the camera and click on.
It is certainly more authentic than the Lomography applications for iPhone.

Now, it should be a dialogue, but it doesn’t require any word, neither any sharing of any topic of conversation. I do mine, I step over and you’ll do what you want. Above a double shot taken from the site. Picturesque and a little naif. But, what does it change between a photograph of grandfather’s grandsons on his bedside table and a fantastic photograph that won the World Press Photo?

1. miglior libro d’autore
- Elisabetta Benassi, All I remember, Nero

2. miglior saggio
–—

3. miglior mostra
- Little Big Press curata da 3/3
- New ducht storytellers, a cura di Rob Hornstra

4. miglior progetto
Valerio Spada, Gomorrah girl
Claudia Rossini, N-Tupla
T-arte Tatin (blog e progetto curatoriale)

5. miglior evento/convegno/discussione

Leoftovers:

Tra i migliori progetti, aggiungo

Landscape Stories

Some argue that the model who posed for the Origin du Monde by Gustave Courbet was the young Joanna Hiffernan, others are not so sure because the color of the most famous furry triangle of art history is visibly different from that of her hair.

So, what a surprise for these critics if they could peep under skirts of noble Roman women or Venetian Renaissance ones, skilful in the discoloration of their hair!

Who maintains that hair and pussy hair must necessarily be the same color may never have visited Tumblr.
One of the platforms most used by teens today unmasks every day without hesitation thousands of fuchsia and turquoise hair, showing the vaginas of the owners, whose thighs are no longer interested in holding any secrets …

From American playmates to Japanese nymphets, the depilations nowadays are enriched with thousand ideas for new dyes and shavings, but they find difficulties to hold attention more than another colored photo. In fact, if a man of the Middle Ages could see less than 10 photos about religious topics during his whole lifetime, each day I meet a far greater number of only female anatomical details.

What intrigues me, however, is well cut, zoom, and male iperealistic way to shot to them, that finds in Courbet a predecessor, but now is less voyeuristic. The photographs I see every day (and I collect here) that show vagina need to show it wet and touched to recall the idea of familiar and feminine warmth. The surprise of the intimate moment is absent, the shot is staged. There is no caress, even sexual.

Women, for centuries directed by a male and pornographic gaze, need to discover their body again and then rediscover the beauty of eroticism.
Free from the sliding curtain – which even the famous painting initially had been hidden behind in the bathroom of his first collector – we have continued to shoot by making public a private moment.

That’s the last frontier of Nordic feminism: a kussomat, a curious photo booth, where we have the opportunity to photograph in total anonymity, sitting with reflectors that link from the bottom, and peeking under the skirt with a different look.

The photographs, accompanied by the motto Kvinde Kende din Krop, become material collected from women to women and invite women to know a little more themselves.
